About the role:


We are looking for a passionate Information Architect for AstraZeneca, a leading global biopharmaceutical company which operates in over 100 countries and is head quartered in the United Kingdom, who will help define and drive best practices for Information within the IT project lifecycle within AstraZeneca.


Roles & responsibilities:


  • Focuses primarily on ensuring that IT architectures appropriately embed and govern Information, by ensuring that project and strategic planning activities fully embed appropriate data models, identify, and utilize master and reference data and plan appropriately for metadata and data catalog integration.
  • Coordinate and plan the use of data modelling resources to support the definition of project Information Architectures.
  • In collaboration with the rest of the IA team, will define standard methods of documenting Information Architectures within the IT project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects to ensure that the elements of a good Information Architecture are clearly understood and are embedded within project solutions.
  • Work with business data governance teams to ensure that master and reference data are understood and embedded into governance plans.
  • Work with Data Analysts and Data Governance teams to ensure that data quality is understood early in the project lifecycle and that there are adequate plans to address.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Mandatory skills:


  • Experience in an IT Architecture role, governing the design and architecture of new solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience of a broad range of Data Management capabilities including Data Architecture, Reference & Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Warehousing & Business Intelligence.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills and facilitation skills with the ability to work with others across remote geographies to achieve objectives.
  • Knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong Exposure to IT Project Lifecycle.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language.
  • Exposure to Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, SAP is an added advantage.

Educational background:

Any Bachelors/master's degree from a reputed institution.
