Role summary


The primary purpose of this role is to develop demand plans of high forecast accuracy (FCA) and low forecast bias (FCB) in collaboration with Specialty Channel Sales team comprising of Modern Trade, Ecommerce, CSD/CPC and D2C (Direct to Consumer).

These channels have high strategic importance for our business due to their high growth potential and competitive nature.

This role will need to manage stakeholders across Channel Sales, Customer Marketing and Supply Planning teams to ensure right finished goods stock planning, availability at warehouses and support optimal OTIF service & inventory levels at all nodes of supply chain.


Key Roles & Responsibilities:


The role plays a critical role to ensure that the right forecast leads to sales maximization within each region specialty channel.

He/She needs to effectively drive forecast related decision-making process and by collaborating with multiple stakeholders.

This makes sure that the organization is in the best possible position to meet the market demand and serve end consumers efficiently and effectively.


  • Develop and prepare demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizon for all Specialty Channels
  • MT, Ecomm, CSD/CPC & D2C.
  • Review historical sales trends, past events impacting sales, identify demand drivers, make statistical forecasting models, and review forecast results to generate Baseline Forecast for forward 024 months.
  • Driving monthly Demand Review Meetings (DRM) with Sales Director and anchor the entire forecasting process with inputs from Sales, trade marketing & Brand team followed by exception review against Sales Plan/ Budget to arrive at unconstrained rolling monthly/quarterly demand plan.
  • Work with Supply team to arrive at constrained forecast in case of capacity or other constraints and develop short term tactical strategies to mitigate loss.
  • Mapping demand drivers like price or grammage changes, media plans, consumer & trade promotions, events, phase in phase out etc.
  • Carry out Forecast Value analysis (FVA) & FA/Bias analysis to identify corrective actions to improve forecast results/process and publish results.

Basic Qualifications & Expertise:


  • Graduate (Statistics, Commerce, Engineering, Finance) with superior data interpretation and analytical skills.
  • Postgraduate degree or equivalent in Management in Supply Chain.
  • 23 Years' experience as Demand Planner or Supply Planner.
  • Past experience in Consumer Health care industry/ CPG industry is a plus.
  • Proven track record of using data to analyze and improve productivity and operations.
  • Demonstrates ability to influence crossfunctional and upper management to impact decisionmaking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Data visualization skills are a must.
  • Strong team player, yet good level of independence.
  • Good presentation skills and articulate.
  • Rigorous and with great attention to detail.
  • Passionate to go beyond the obvious.
  • Willingness and flexibility to offer full support to SC and Sales colleagues.
