Prime Job:


  • To take care of the health of the patients who are admitted for surgery due to systemic and noneye care emergencies
  • To be an active member in the Hospital Infection Control Committee and contribute with new ideas to reduce the HAIs

Main Responsibilities:


  • To take care of all systemic emergencies like Cardiac, Pulmonary Cases, Anaphylactic shock & allergy, Accidental Injuries
  • Should assess the condition of the systemic problems of patients admitted for eye surgery and assess the condition at regular intervals till the patient is discharged
  • Check the physical condition of the systemic patients pre operatively and post operatively and to monitor high risk patients in the block room. To check the BP chart and insulin chart during rounds.
  • If needed to give IV injections and IV fluids for patients
  • To check all crash carts in the hospital on a daily basis and ensure its properly maintained
  • Should assist the anesthetist while examining the patients having Critical Problems in the Ward.
  • To be a part of the Code Blue team and to perform the assigned duty when the code is activated
  • Should also attend to emergency patients and provide necessary intervention
  • Should train the Ward MLOPs and Operation Theatre MLOPs in taking care of critical patients
  • Should train the Ward MLOPs in documenting the temperature, pulse rate, Blood pressure, and Urine Sugar Test results of the patients who are undergoing surgery
  • To also take classes for other MLOPs as and when required
  • As and when required to conduct theory and practical examination for Diploma ophthalmic nursing students
