Freight Broker

Job Summary:

As a Freight Broker, you will play a crucial role in managing the transportation of goods and ensuring the smooth operation of the supply chain for the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to connect shippers with carriers to facilitate the timely and cost-effective movement of freight.

**Job Description:

To Identify and vetting prospective carriers to build a sales pipeline.
To gather information from clients to determine their shipping needs.
To obtain shipping quotes from carriers and passing them on to clients.
To book freight service through carriers for clients.
To coordinate the pickup and drop off of shipments.
To monitor the progress of shipments to ensure that goods arrive promptly and undamaged.
To update customer management software to keep client records accurate.
To advise clients on potential supply chain issues.
To maintain current knowledge of US freight carrier services and be effective in attracting new customers and ensuring customer retention.

Required skill set:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Deep understanding of the Freight Industry.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Proven sales skills to obtain new clients and carriers.
Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets.
Excellent problemsolving ability.
Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook/Gmail.
