POSITION DETAILS

_ Position Summary_
The Draftsman shall support the design and drafting effort of control valves, and work under technical supervision of the Engineering lead

This position shall be based in Coimbatore and shall require continuous communication and interface with other engineering associates based in other CIRCOR Control Valve Groups


_ Principal Activities_

  • Using SolidWorks (required) to creates 3D models and 2D component drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOMs)
  • Ensure drawings generated meet internal, and ISO / EN drawing standards.
  • Ensure that all drawings generated comply with internal configuration management processes and procedures and create Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Convert twodimensional format drawings (AutoCAD, PDF, etc ) to 3D SolidWorks models and 2D drawings as directed

Job Requirements:

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

_ Knowledge Skills & Abilities_

  • Proficient in part modelling and detailing using SolidWorks (required)
  • Proficient in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in ISO / EN Engineering Drawing Practices and Drawing Standards
  • Basic understanding of material, welding symbol, seal & spring selection in design
  • Must have effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and able to manage multiple drafting tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Understanding of basic machine shop practices and capabilities.
  • Basic understanding/experience of hydromechanical devices such as fluidic control valves and actuators is a plus.
  • Use of PDM Software for configuration control is a plus

_ Education & Experience_

Education:

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in relevant field or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.


Experience:
The Draftsman must have a minimum of 3+ years of Solidworks 3D modeling and 2D drafting experience.
