    About the Role

    Visible Alpha is hiring a Product Design Lead for the Global Product Design team. Experience depth and efficiency are the focus of Visible Alpha's Product Design Team. Products we design enable users to make data-driven investment decisions in less time with greater clarity. We work as a tight-knit team in collaboration with Engineering and Data Science, realizing a shared product vision of developing a new generation of applications to empower financial workflows.

    As Product Design Lead, you will help shape core user experience (UX) principles and frameworks and embed them into the organization. In your role, you will frequently collaborate with business and commercial-facing partners across the US, Europe, and Asia.

    Design practice at Visible Alpha integrates a variety of experiences. On an average day, you might be: leading a design sprint; conducting quant/qual user research; designing an interaction to make a complex task feel simple; and/or aligning UX decisions with the organization's business objectives. As a team, we work on a range of projects, including:

  • Developing analytic applications, from early concept development to final product.
  • Brainstorming and developing data visualizations that provide unique insights to our users.
  • Digging deep into data analytics to drive our design decisions.
  • Establishing UX consistency across our product by building reusable UI components.
    • What You'll Do: Design and prototyping:
  • You will lead the concept development processes, collaborate with stakeholders to flesh out high-level workflows, and work with designers in developing effective visual design and prototypes.
    • Quant and qual user research:
  • You will collaborate with the Data Science team to extract intelligent insights from our usage data to inform design strategy for new and existing products. You will conduct informal qualitative research with our internal and external customers.
    • Partnerships and cross-functional collaborations:
  • We collaborate closely with business stakeholders, engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to bring our ideas to life. You'll treat all teams you work with as partners and build products in collaboration with them.

    Candidate Differentiators

  • Domain expertise in the financial industry; prior work experience in the industry or awareness of our key user types and their workflows.
  • A base-level knowledge of how software is built, informing the design spec definition process when collaborating with engineers.
  • Master's degree in UX, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Python, SQL, and/or open-source visualization libraries is appreciated. Resources are available to those interested in learning
