Overview of Role/Job Purpose:

Job Description:

Duties:

Work with Version Control to research/resolve issues associated with environment refreshes/code promotions.
Work with the VXcis Version Control, and Team400 to ensure consistency of solution, standards, and processes.
Ensure consistency between production and mirrored backup database schemas. (structure)
Implement and manage processes for monitoring the health of database constraints.
Implement and manage processes for identifying and preventing unauthorized accesses.
Review IBM Operating System release notes to identify potential impacts.
Evaluate 3rdparty software products and tools.
Research/Advocate new IBM Power I feature to be leveraged by the VXcis product.
Provide oncall support, including after hours, in the Tier1 and Tier2 capacity.
Participate in corporate compliance audit activities.
As necessary, collect information for IBM analysis.
Installation, configuration, maintenance and support of systems and hardware in the AS/400 environment.
Responsible for creating and examining functional specifications to create requirements.
Ability to integrate multiple systems and resolve needs of different teams.
Operations, Maintenance and Support of new Enterprise Integration product.
Participate in review meetings and change control planning meetings.
Recognize areas of improvement within IT infrastructures.
Upkeep of systems by working with other groups and client advocates, by patching regularly.
Create and Maintain documentation on all IT related processes and procedures.
Provide occasional desktop support to various users as required, in a secondary role.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
5+ years in an iSeries System Administrator support role.
