Description

The Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) - English is responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment for students in the field of English literature and language.

The PGT will design and deliver comprehensive lesson plans, foster critical thinking and analytical skills, and contribute to the overall development of students' language proficiency and appreciation for literature.


Responsibilities:


1.


Curriculum Development:


  • Develop and update the English curriculum in alignment with academic standards and the institution's goals.
  • Design wellstructured lesson plans that encompass various aspects of English literature, language, grammar, and writing skills.
  • Select appropriate instructional materials, textbooks, and resources to enhance learning experiences.

Effective Teaching:


  • Conduct engaging and interactive English classes for students, utilizing a variety of teaching methods, techniques, and technologies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages open dialogue, critical thinking, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students on their assignments, projects, and assessments.

Assessment and Evaluation:


  • Design and administer assessments, quizzes, tests, and examinations to measure students' comprehension and progress.
  • Evaluate and grade students' work promptly, providing insightful feedback to help them improve their language and literary skills.

Student Development:


  • Identify and address individual learning needs and learning styles within the classroom.
  • Encourage active participation and engagement, promoting a love for English language and literature.
  • Mentor and guide students in their academic and personal growth, providing support when needed.

Extracurricular Activities:


  • Organize and participate in Englishrelated extracurricular activities such as literary clubs, debates, creative writing workshops, and drama productions.
  • Foster an appreciation for literature and language beyond the classroom through cultural events and literary celebrations.

Collaboration and Professional Development:


  • Collaborate with fellow English teachers and faculty members to share best practices and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Stay updated with current trends, research, and advancements in English education by attending workshops, conferences, and seminars.

Parent and Community Engagement:


  • Maintain effective communication with parents or guardians, providing regular updates on students' progress and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in parentteacher meetings and conferences to discuss student performance and development.

Administrative Tasks:


  • Complete required paperwork, attendance records, and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, staff development sessions, and school events as required.

Qualifications:


  • A postgraduate degree in English or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience.
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Passion for literature, language, and education.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
