    Description

    At The Wise Seeker we arelooking for a Senior Manager to join the Sales & Use Taxpractice at a major client in the financial sector in Mumbai. Welook for individuals who welcome new ideas encourage innovation andare eager to make animpact.

    Location:MumbaiIndia

    Functions

    1. Managingsales tax compliance process for clients sales taxreturns.
    2. Interacting with clients andoverseeing staff.
    3. Corresponding with state andlocal tax authorities to resolve clientissues.
    4. Notice resolution and business licensesforclients.


    Requirements

    1. MinimumEducation: Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent field(preferred).
    2. Specific Specialties: CMI (salestax) designation (preferred) Masters in Taxation (preferred) CPA(preferred).
    3. Minimum Experience: 8 yearsexperience with sales taxcompliance.

    Skills

    1. Experiencewith sales tax preparation software (e.g. Vertex Avalara One SourceTaxJar).
    2. Proficiency in Microsoft Officeproducts (Excel Word PowerPoint); Alteryx or Power BI (a plus);Quickbooks Shopify and Stripeplatforms.
    3. Understanding of sales and use taxissues including exemption deductions prepayments tax accruals andreserves journal entries.
    4. Experience workingdirectly with clients and globalcounterparts.
    5. Leadership skills including teamdevelopment and onboarding experience.
    6. Abilityto work effectively with both US and Indiamanagement.
    7. Experience across multipleindustries (retail pharma software companiesetc.).
