As a Procurement Executive, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the procurement and purchasing activities of a company or organization.

This includes developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, overseeing the procurement process, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and leading a team of procurement professionals.


Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies that align with the company's goals and objectives. Analyse market trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and practices.

Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts, terms, and prices, and monitor supplier performance against established key performance indicators (KPIs). Develop and maintain a preferred supplier list and actively manage supplier relationships to ensure optimal performance.

Procurement Process Oversight: Oversee the entire procurement process, including identifying purchasing needs, conducting market research, obtaining quotes, preparing and managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods or services. Develop and implement procurement procedures and controls to ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and best practices.

Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, including terms and conditions, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs). Review and approve contract drafts, ensuring alignment with company requirements and legal standards. Collaborate with legal and other relevant departments to mitigate procurement-related risks.

Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring. Set performance goals and objectives, conduct performance reviews, and develop talent within the team. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment and promote professional development opportunities for team members.

Budget Management: Develop and manage procurement budgets, monitor procurement expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings and cost avoidance. Collaborate with finance and accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting related to procurement activities.

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, regulations, and ethical standards. Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and regulatory changes. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as finance, operations, legal, and other relevant departments, to ensure alignment and coordination of procurement activities. Act as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, providing procurement expertise and insights to support their goals and initiatives.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (required); Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, CIPS) (preferred)
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, procedures, regulations, and best practices
  • Proven experience in supplier management, negotiation, and contract management

Skills Required:


  • Ability to use procurement software or tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fastpaced environment
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations, compliance, and risk management

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in sensitive matters
