Your future duties and responsibilities


Job Description (Skill title): SCCM Patching L2 SE

  • Manage and maintain the SCCM patch management infrastructure, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of patch deployments.
  • Serve as the highest level of escalation for patching-related issues, providing expert-level support and guidance to resolve complex problems that cannot be resolved by L1 or L2 support technicians.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams, such as system administrators, network engineers, and security teams, to evaluate patching requirements and design patching strategies that align with organizational policies and best practices.
  • Plan and schedule regular patching activities, ensuring mínimal impact on production systems and maximum security compliance.
  • Test and validate patches in a lab environment before deploying them to production systems, ensuring compatibility and minimizing the risk of disruptions.
6. knowledge in WSUS administration, configuration, maintenance, support, troubleshooting

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation related to SCCM patching processes, including patch deployment schedules, maintenance windows, and rollback procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze patch management metrics and reports, proactively identifying areas for improvement, and recommending and implementing enhancements to optimize patch deployment processes.
  • Conduct patch-related troubleshooting and root cause analysis for failed deployments, collaborating with vendors and other technical teams to identify and resolve underlying issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to L1 and L2 support technicians, assisting in their professional development and knowledge enhancement in SCCM patching.
  • Extensive experience in managing and maintaining patch management using Microsoft SCCM in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Expert-level knowledge of SCCM patch management concepts, including patch deployment, software updates, collections, and maintenance windows.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies, such as Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and WSUS, and their integration with SCCM patch management.
  • In-depth understanding of patch management best practices, vulnerability management frameworks (e.g., CVE, CVSS), and security compliance requirements.
  • Issue remediation for WSUS server setup and testing along with establishing connection with database.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell to streamline patching processes and develop custom reporting solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting patch-related issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex patching-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
