ROLE DESCRIPTION
IT Systems Administrator Technical Support & Coordination (Linux)
Job Brief:
- We are looking for a System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks.
- Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.
- Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
- You should be able to support any escalation from your internal team.
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure software and hardware
- Manage network servers and technology tools
- Installation of CentOS 6.8, CentOS 7, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 20.04, mint 18.3, Windows
- Set up accounts and workstations
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
- Troubleshoot issues and outages
- Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Follow internal technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies
- Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements
- Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative
- Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
- Managing user accounts & groups.
- Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
- Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
- Coordinating with the support team and handling escalations in case of emergencies.
Work Skills:
- Should have good experience as IT System Admin.
- Handson experience on Linux and Windows platforms.
- Setting up SAMBA & NFS servers, to enable Windows & Linux clients to communicate with Linux.
- Knowledge of LDAP and AD
- Installation of Linux OS i.e. Cents 6, 6.4, 7, RHEL 5&6, Ubuntu
- Installation of OS in VMware Workstation virtualisation
- Knowledge of Linux commands.
- Have knowledge of FSTAB, FDISK, CUPS, LDAP
- Basic knowledge of Linux vi nano editor and basic scripting.
- Linux File Systems
- Run level and switching terminal
- Permission, Adding, deleting user, setting policies.
- Troubleshooting Hardware and Networking.
- Configuration of Wifi and routers / UTM and VPN.
IT Management & Report:
- Taking care of IT processes and support for all interventions.
- Implement of smooth IT process system by maintaining support logs and MIS reports.
- Supervise IT issues and support errorfree in a timely manner with reporting systems.
- Taking care of all hardware and software issues.
- Regularly reporting and updating MIS in a timely manner to R1 and R2.
Team Management:
- Coordinate all IT activities with engineers for a smooth process.
- Regular check on all IT supports issues including pending issues.
- Training engineers (Team) for any new requirement.
Educational Qualification:
Bsc.
IT/ BCA/ MCA/ BA in Computer/ BE
Important Certifications:
RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator)
& RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer)
Year of Experience:
Should have a minimum of 2 or 3 Years of experience in technical support as IT Systems Administrator (Linux).

HOURS OF WORK :8 hours a day
WORKING CONDITIONS
The job can involve working conditions that include 8 hours shifts between 8am to 7pm, in demanding and high-pressure situations the shifts can extend.

Contract length: 6 months
Salary:
₹23, ₹30,000.00 per month
