The Micro Focus Identity & Access Management Team is looking for a Product Owner to take on the role as a customer advocate and work day-to-day with engineering to ensure delivery of customer focused solutions.

In this role, you will work with the Identity and Access Management Product Managers to execute on product requirements and ensure engineering deliverables meet acceptance for customer delivery.


Responsibilities

  • The Product Owner works alongside the Product Manager with the primary responsibility to be the daytoday contact with engineering and is intimately involved in areas such as User Interface reviews, User Experience Reviews, Documentation Reviews as well as provide guidance for engineering for general questions and asks.
  • To achieve this task, the Product Owner needs to work closely with the Product Manager to understand the details of the requirements. Specifically, the problem statements and each persona that is impacted by the problem.
  • Manage and maintain all detailed user stories. As requirements are reviewed with Product Management, the Product Owner will document the user stories and then review with the Product Manager and the Value Team Engineering Lead (and appropriate engineering team members) to ensure that the user stories will satisfy the requirement.
  • Manage and maintain all Acceptance Criteria. As requirements are reviewed with Product Management, the Product Owner will document Acceptance Criteria Demonstrations and then review with the Product Manager and the Value Team Engineering Lead (and appropriate engineering team members) to ensure that the acceptance criteria will satisfy the requirement. The Product Owner will have the responsibility, through the Acceptance Criteria to communicate "Done" to engineering.
  • The Product Owner is responsible for coordination between his/her Value Team Release Train Engineer (RTE) and the Solution Product Manager responsible for the Customer Integration Environment to plan/schedule the implementation of software updates in the Integration Environment and schedule the Acceptance Criteria demonstrations.

Expectations

The Product Owner is expected to:

  • Have a detailed understanding of the various personas as he/she will be responsible and to act as the advocate for those personas
  • representing the voice of the customer to the sprint teams.
  • Review feature deliverables as the customer/persona would. When appropriate, the Product Owner will work with Product Management when personas need to be modified or suggestions for new personas
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Solution Product Managers to detail product and integration requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure the sprint team backlogs are tied to the appropriate requirements based upon the product roadmap/customer commitments.
  • Maintain familiarity with the roadmaps (future releases, deprecated releases, updated APIs, etc.) to ensure feature delivery and manage release dependencies.
  • Perform customer research to ensure that the delivered software hits the target and results in a highly usable solution.
  • Maintain daytoday communications with engineering as they work through the sprint team backlogs.
  • Work with the appropriate Micro Focus organizations to contribute to Support, Sales Enablement, Technical Enablement, Product Demonstrations and Customer Training as needed
