Job Description

Purpose

The Internal ELV Systems Estimator is key in preparing detailed cost estimates for a wide range of ELV projects, including Building Management Systems (BMS), light control, home automation, network infrastructure (including Cat6 and fiber optic cabling), WiFi systems, and MFD/IDF networks. This role requires an extensive understanding of both traditional and smart building technologies, ensuring that all project estimations are precise, competitive, and in line with the latest industry standards. Thoroughly analyze technical documents, specifications, and blueprints to accurately assess project scopes across diverse ELV domains.

Work Overview

Develop and manage detailed cost estimates for integrated ELV systems, encompassing BMS, light control, home automation, wired and wireless networking, and data center infrastructure.
Thoroughly analyze technical documents, specifications, and blueprints to accurately assess project scopes across diverse ELV domains.

Engage in active collaboration with the Pre-sales Engineer, sales teams, and technical departments to align estimates with both client expectations and technical requirements.

Conduct site evaluations as necessary to confirm project details and requirements, especially for retrofitting and upgrading existing systems.

Offer innovative and cost-effective solutions for advanced BMS, smart lighting, home automation systems, robust networking infrastructure, and data center setups.

Keep abreast of the latest technologies and trends in smart building systems, network technologies, and home automation to enhance the value and efficiency of proposed solutions.

Support bid and proposal processes with accurate, detailed, and compelling financial and technical documentation.

Liaise with vendors and contractors to secure optimal pricing and services for all project components, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.

Requirements

Prerequisites

Proficiency in specialized estimation software relevant to ELV and networking projects, as well as MS Office Suite.
Deep knowledge of ELV systems, networking infrastructure, smart building technologies, and industry best practices.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teams across different departments.
Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field, with a strong focus on ELV systems and smart technologies.
Demonstrated experience in estimating complex projects involving BMS, light control, home automation, and networking systems (including Cat6, fiber optics, WiFi, and IDF/MDF networks).

Requirements
Prerequisites · Knowledge of auxiliary systems (structured cabling systems, switches, CCTV, AV) · Working with vendors to correctly select systems (switches, firewalls, audio/visual etc) · Must have strong English communication both written and verbal. · Must be confident and socially adept. · Must have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets. · Must be committed to excellence and have an attention for detail. · Must have a working capability for technical sales, including passing vendor sales certifications. · Must be able to handle pressure from time to time and always meet deadlines. · Must have excellent time management and organisation skills.
