    Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant, API Gateway Engineer

    In this role, you will be responsible for crafting clean, functional code that flawlessly suits the needs of the company.

    Your main focus will be coding and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests.

    To support Engineer using Agile Methodology and should have an end to end understanding of business use cases, to transform them into an effective and strategic solution.

    Work with business people to have a real time problem and, craft the solution which really fits into client needs.

    Responsibilities


    • Experience designing and building business/technical services using API Gateways and supporting them in production environments.
    • Experience designing relational data models, building microservices and dealing with sync/async integration technologies.
    • Ensure that all APIs comply with enterprise security policies and data privacy regulations.
    • Implement security practices like OAuth, OpenID Connect, and JWT for secure API access.
    • Conduct regular security audits and participate in security incident responses.
    • Deep understanding of modern software development lifecycles, versioning, and deployment.

    Minimum Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    Preferred Qualifications/ Skills


    • Manage and support Apigee, API Connect or other API Gateways
    • Design and write effective APIM policies to manage APIs and API Exception handling.
    • Proven experience with Azure API Management.
    • Strong understanding of API protocols and technologies (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
    • Experience with Azure services related to API integration like Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Event Grid.
    • Knowledge of authentication and authorization standards (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect).
    • Familiarity with programming/scripting languages such as C#, PowerShell, or JavaScript.
    • Implement policies for transformation, restriction, and routing of API traffic.
    • Develop policies for authentication, authorization, and throttling to ensure secure and efficient API access.
    • Oversee the entire lifecycle of APIs from design, development, deployment to retirement.
    • Collaborate with development teams to integrate APIs with existing and new services.
    • Implement version control and deprecation strategies for APIs.
