Roles and Job Responsibilities:


  • Manage PostgreSQL databases and collaborate with team/stakeholders on the project's requirements.
  • Migrate MS-SQL database to PostgreSQL's latest version and Give best practice guidance to the development team.
  • Create the objects in the database, such as tables, procedures, triggers, indexes, etc.
  • Lead the project team from a database change management standpoint and regularly share status updates with management.
  • Perform Architectural health checks, suggest optimizations, and design changes through a detailed summary.
  • Optimize the performance of PostgreSQL databases using your knowledge of PostgreSQL Internals.
  • Tune SQL and write complex scripts as daytoday tasks.
  • Flexible in managing PostgreSQL databases on Cloud AWS RDS
  • Create, Maintain and Publish the Database documentation (design, dataflow process, technical specification).

Technical Skills required:


  • Must have the mindset of helping team/customers to implement PostgreSQL
  • Must have expertise in managing PostgreSQL for at least 5 years.
  • Must have a deeper understanding of the PostgreSQL architecture and internals.
  • Should understand the limitations and the workarounds for managing PostgreSQL deployed on Cloud platforms.
  • Should have expertise in PostgreSQL administrative tasks to optimize the performance
  • Must be able to analyze the logs and optimize the timeconsuming SQL.
  • Must be able to perform PostgreSQL Upgrades from legacy to latest versions with the least possible downtime.
  • Migrating schema and data from MS-SQL database to PostgreSQL.
