Job Spec - Commercial Data Architect
***AMETEK Corporate function provides the people, processes, and digital platforms to strengthen the brand, connect with customers, and grow revenue in a data driven and collaborative environment.

The primary responsibility for this role is to drive the design and implementation of the company-wide data strategy, ensuring the strategy supports the current and future business needs.

The role will involve collaborating with Business and IT stakeholders at all levels to ensure the data strategy and associated implementation is adding value to the business.

It will require a solid understanding of business processes, and the AMETEK Growth Model, combined with the ability to translate these into requirements that can be acted upon by a team of Data Analysts.

You will be working closely with multiple stakeholders to actively influence, decide and execute on the best options for these initiatives.

The role will include significant interaction with multiple functional levels, different geographic locations and some international travel can be required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and implement strategies that enable the business leaders to transform raw data into business insights and influence decision making to meet growth objectives.
Be a key stakeholder and advisor in all new strategic data initiatives and ensure alignment to the data strategy.
Build a framework of principles to ensure data integrity across the business (including but not limited to ERP, CRM, BI, Data warehouse, external interfaces, etc.).
Ensure that the Data Architecture strategy and roadmap is aligned to the business and technology strategies.
Provide technical oversight to Data Analysts responsible for delivering business driven solutions and ensuring compliance with data governance standards.
Be an advocate of data security principles and ensure security practices are embedded in any data strategy.
Develop key performance measures for data integration and quality.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

BS/MS in Computer Science or Information System or similar IT degree.
Proven experience in understanding business needs, architecting and implementing Business Intelligence and Data warehouse platforms, Master Data Management, data integration and database solutions.
Strong knowledge of industry best practices around data architecture.
Possess indepth knowledge of and able to consult on various technologies.
Strong analytical and numerical skills are essential.
A comprehensive understanding of the principles of and best practices behind data engineering, and the supporting technologies.
A comprehensive understanding of data warehousing and data transformation (extract, transform and load).
Excellent problem solving and data modelling skills.
Experience working in a corporate environment and driving results in collaborative, crossfunctional environments.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position will supervise others and may be responsible for the performance management, hiring, development and coaching of employees.
