Principal Data Scientist

Key Responsibilities

Technical Competency:
Lead NLP initiatives, including Generative AI and LLMs (OpenAI, HuggingFace, Mistral, Gemini etc.)
Drive system design and development, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
Propose and define technology vision for emerging technical areas.
Program/Product/Project Leadership:
Define technology and solution strategies for a portfolio of products.
Drive reusability and standardization across portfolio of solutions with a product mindset and outsidein perspective.
Align with organizational vision and propose execution plans.
Manage vendor relationships as needed.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, manage, grow, and retain top talent.
Execute talent management processes and manage daytoday people scenarios including technical guidance, feedback, mentoring, conflict resolution etc.
Identify growth needs of an individual team member and help them be the best version of themselves.
Stakeholder Management:
Engage with stakeholders and build strong business connections.
Maintain effective communication channels for wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Organization Initiatives:
Drive and manage new initiatives aligned with business goals.
Be energetic and flexible to accommodate evolving needs of the Organization.
Operational Excellence:
Operate with a continuous improvement mindset, analyzing, improving, and maturing the existing processes, tools, and frameworks for NLP product development and delivery.
Understand, analyze and enhance existing processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related fields.
Experience:
Overall experience of 1215 years in the IT industry, with 9+ years in NLP, solving unstructured data problems, machine learning, and data science.
5+ years of experience in python coding, with proficiency in common NLP and ML libraries and frameworks such as NLTK, spaCy, scikitlearn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
Knowledge of the latest trends and developments in the field.
Experience in System design and development with ability to architect and implement scalable and robust solutions.
Realworld team leadership experience of managing at least 57 member team and ability to motivate, inspire, and empower a diverse and distributed team is a must.
Strong program and project leadership skills, and ability to plan, execute, and deliver highquality products within budget and timeline.
Very good stakeholder management skills, and ability to build and maintain effective relationships and communicate clearly and persuasively.
Strong soft skills, such as (indicative list) collaboration, teamwork, humility, very good communication, working with compressed timelines, working in evolving, ambiguous environments, and attitude to get things done.
