Responsibilities:


  • Conduct oneonone counseling sessions with patients to assess their emotional, psychological, social needs and assisting throughout the procedure.
  • Explain complex eyerelated procedures and surgeries in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Offer psychoeducation on coping strategies, stress management techniques, and healthy lifestyle practices to enhance patients' overall wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with medical teams to integrate psychosocial care into the patient's treatment plan and coordinate patient appointments, surgeries, and followup care.
  • Ensure seamless communication between patients and medical staff to facilitate a smooth treatment process.
  • Educate patients on preventive measures and postoperative care to enhance treatment outcomes. Conduct informational sessions and workshops to raise awareness about eye health in the community. Stay updated on advancements in eye care treatments and technologies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions, progress, and outcomes in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Stay informed about developments in the field of patient counseling and integrate evidencebased practices into service delivery.
  • Assist in resolving any issues related to patient care, ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Conduct informational sessions and workshops to raise awareness about eye health in the community.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.


In-depth knowledge of eye-related surgeries and treatments.

  • Relevant licensure or certification (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Social Worker) preferred.
  • Proven experience providing counseling or psychotherapy services to individuals or groups, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport and trust with diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and compassionate manner.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental attitude towards patients and their experiences.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial issues related to chronic illness, trauma, grief, and endoflife care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing priorities in a fastpaced healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other technology tools for documentation and communication.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in all interactions with patients and their families.

Working Conditions:

The Patient Counselor primarily works in a hospital and must possess ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.


Salary:
₹20, ₹25,000.00 per month
