The role of People Services Generalist will be to work as part of the People Services Team in Chennai providing complex HR data administration and helpdesk services for our customers.

You will process changes to Equiniti employee personal details, correspondence and data record maintenance. You will also provide advisory support to Equiniti managers and employees on standard HR and payroll policies(L1)

Business Functions:People Services is a team based in Chennai that delivers technology driven HR administration, reporting and advisory services for Equiniti managers in the UK.

They will provide an exciting new service proposition which delivers:


  • Integration and alignment:with Equiniti Business Technology Services offering in Chennai, following the requirement to off-shore where possible, digital by design and a technology solution chosen within the existing Microsoft stack.

Operational efficiency and quality:efficient and robust processes and controls. Stronger data integrity, allowing better decision making and further bottom line savings in areas such as absence, overtime, vacancy and pay controls.


Core Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Input / Maintain employee data in Workday
  • All HCM core tasks such as Termination / Personal Details / Assign Roles / Organization changes and Probationary periods, internal transfers and special leave (maternity, paternity and flexible working), Sickness absence (short term and long term sick) and annual leave requests.
  • Changes to personal details and terms and conditions, personal allowances, compensation and benefits.
  • Administration and correspondence support for the UK based Employee Relations Specialists dealing with employee relations cases.
  • HR records ensuring all employee records (manual and electronic) are accurate, up to date and comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and company specific requirements.
  • Leaver actions for those leaving employment with Equiniti, including exemployee reference requests and other external data requests.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:


  • Sound experience of working within HR shared service centres.
  • Experience on HR process within Workday desirable
  • Strong knowledge of HR theory and practice
  • Impressive interpersonal skills
  • Very high levels of data input accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well organised, hardworking and comfortable working to strict service levels and targets.
  • Foundational understanding of HR processes, policies and procedures.
  • At least intermediate level in MS Office suite, and adept at learning new systems and processes driven by technology
  • Strong integrity and an appreciation of the requirement for confidentiality and the protection of data
  • Commitment and enthusiasm to continuous improvement, to transform how HR is delivered at Equiniti
