Requirements:


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Four years of experience in the operations and maintenance of water treatment or wastewater treatment or similar mechanical systems.

Education Requirements:


Completion of Secondary School (Class XII) and apprenticeship or vocational training as producing journeyman level in the field of heating or ventilation or air conditioning or plumbers and/or mechanical system specialist trained in the maintenance of commercial or industrial buildings/facilities is required.

Please indicate your proficiency level separately for each of the required languages, using one of the following levels

Level 1, Basic:


  • Examples: Basic greetings, phrases, numbers and signs.

Level 2, Limited:


  • Examples: Directions, simple questions

Level 3, Good working knowledge:


  • Examples: Conversations about familiar topics, complex documents

Level 4, Fluent:


  • Examples: Infer nuanced meaning from complex documents

Level 5, Translator:


  • Examples: Certified professional translator in this language

LANGUAGE REQUIRED:

Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) in English & Hindi (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required. English language may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Valid Indian/International Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license is required.**

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.

HIRING PREFERENCE ORDER:

  • AEFM / USEFM who is a preferenceeligible U.S. Veteran

  • FS on LWOP and CS with reemployment rights**IMPORTANT: Applicants who claim status as a preferenceeligible U.S. Veteran must submit a copy of their most recent DD214 ("Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty"), equivalent documentation, or certification. A "certification" is any written document from the armed forces that certifies the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active duty service in the armed forces under honorable conditions within 120 days after the certification is submitted by the applicant. The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service. Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
