The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India.

The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women.

THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities.

Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.

Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs.

THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

JOB PURPOSE


The Associate-Finance & Accounts would be mainly responsible for maintaining the books of account and other relevant records / registers, Petty Cash Book, ledgers, process the expense claims/bills/accounting vouchers, and other Accounting works along with Office Administration.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Book keeping and Accounting on Tally/SAP Accounting Software.
  • Voucher preparation with proper supporting invoices/documents and filing.
  • Calculation of TDS and GST
  • Establishing the system for perishable item purchase, maintaining stock and in/ out consumption
  • Payment of utility bills (Electricity/water/telephone etc.) and other recurring expenses.
  • Petty cash management.
  • Stock verification and audit on quarterly basis at Sewa Dham School
  • Preparation and maintenance of Attendance, leave, Stock, Fixed asset and other secondary registers of records as may be required.
  • Preparation of base documents and calculation sheet for processing the payroll of the project staff.
  • Review of bills and invoices at regional office as well as project Cluster locations.
  • Visiting project cluster locations for taking stock of cash, medicines and other items as may be required.
  • Monthly closing of books of accounts of the regional office.
  • Supporting in/preparation of utilization report of assigned projects on monthly basis.
  • Provide financial data to HO on timely basis.
  • Assist Finance Manager in audit and ensure timely submission of audit replies.
  • Coordinate with Bank / Bank mandates.
  • Indenting and stock verification of medicine. Supervising the Sr. Storekeeper.
  • Take care of office and vehicle fleet management and assist in procurement at local level.
  • Any other work/responsibility as may be assigned by the THF management.

Other Indicative Requirements Educational Qualifications**- Graduate in Commerce with specialization in Accountancy/Finance and at least 2-3 years of experience in Book Keeping and Accounting.


Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)

  • Efficient in handling accounts through tally software and computer proficiency (particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Preference will be given to those having experience in NGO or development sector. Prior working in organization having FC fund would be an advantage.
  • Must be able to adhere to deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills, fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi are required.
  • Must be comfortable in a highly collaborative, consensus
- oriented environment.
