The BMC Professional services team sits at the intersection of technology and business. This team is responsible for our customers success, ensuring the smooth implementation of BMC products in their environments. You will be the product expert that guides our customers through education, delivery and implementation.


GSD (Global Services Delivery) is a global delivery organization responsible for delivering BMC solutions to our customer worldwide. It provides unique opportunity to meet customers and solve their business problem by consultative approach. This group is responsible for managing latest BMC technologies and making sure customers get the maximum value from their investment.


AMS Consultant - The Application Managed Services Consultant will provide consultative operational services including technical post-implementation/go-live services for enterprise software solutions throughout for BMC's worldwide customers. The Consultant must be able to multi task in a fast-paced environment since they will be working on incidents, problems, releases, patching, upgrades, integrations simultaneously.


SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- + relevant years mainframe technical experience as a z/OS Systems Programmer:

  • working in Services or projects, preferably Customer facing in a professional consultative capacity
- working as Source Code Management administrator
- experience in z/OS Operating System and Program Product installs, SYSPLEX, system configurations, upgrades, user mods/exits, in large complex environments. Strong experience with SMP/e, testing and deployment strategies, problem determination and resolution

  • Strong experience in TSO, ISPF, JCL, REXX, CLIST
  • Consultative skills with customers when driving deliverables and setting priorities
  • A selfstarter, willing to work without a net with a proven ability to meet assigned timelines with high quality, complete deliverables in unsupervised, often remote, situations
  • Willingness to mentor, share ideas and knowledge with other colleagues promoting best practices
  • Demonstrated success in building key relationships in the past with Sales, Technical Support, Application Teams and Product Engineering

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Mainframe Source Code Management expertise as administrator, specifically BMC ISPW software.
  • Strong experience with ISV Product migration, especially Broadcom and BMC.
  • Strong experience with install and configuration of software products, BMC, IBM, Micro Focus and CA-Broadcom SCM products
  • Automation tools like Jenkins for CI/CD Pipeline automation

PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works interactively with all project staff, both BMC internal and Customer.
  • Performs and coordinates the Install, Configuration, Migration and Implementation activities of BMC tools.
  • Contributes to Customer ready design documentation to support all Functional requirements, Technical Solution Design, Test Strategy and Deployment Plans
  • Advises on updates to the Project or Service Schedule to the Project Manager, Practice Lead or Service Delivery Manager
  • Recognizes customer requests that fall outside scope of the SOW or any new opportunities and brings it to the attention of the Project Manager/Practice Lead for further review.
  • Successfully moves Customer into production on the target BMC solution, transitioning the project to closure with both the customer and BMC teams.
  • Support BMC disaster recovery/business continuity programs as directed.
  • Communicate effectively with R&D users and management at all levels.
