    Job Summary:This position involves working closely with the Pharmacy Lab[SMAS] as a Laboratory Assistant. The Laboratory Assistant will primarily be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of our pharmacy laboratory by assisting in various tasks related to the preparation, testing, and quality control of pharmaceutical products.

Key Responsibilities:


Assist in Product Preparation:
Prepare pharmaceutical products under the supervision of pharmacists or laboratory technicians.

This may involve measuring, mixing, and compounding ingredients according to established formulas and procedures.-
Perform Laboratory Tests: Conduct routine laboratory tests to ensure the quality and potency of pharmaceutical products.

This may include performing assays, pH testing, viscosity measurements, and other relevant tests as per standard operating procedures.-
Maintain Laboratory Equipment: Ensure that laboratory equipment is clean, calibrated, and maintained properly.

Assist in the setup and dismantling of equipment as needed for various laboratory procedures.-
Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, including test results, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance logs.

Ensure that all documentation is complete, organized, and compliant with regulatory standards.-
Quality Control: Assist in quality control activities to ensure that pharmaceutical products meet established standards of purity, potency, and safety.

This may involve conducting inspections, monitoring environmental conditions, and participating in quality assurance audits.-
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements governing laboratory operations.

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.-
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with pharmacists, laboratory technicians, and other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise.-
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in pharmacy technology or a related field preferred.-
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory or pharmacy setting is desirable.-
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.-
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.-
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to laboratory operations.
