The Senior Accountant manages accounting functions and the preparation of reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results.

Formulates and administers approved accounting practices throughout the organization to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations.

Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency. Develops and implements accounting policies and procedures in conformance with current FASB and SEC guidance. Manages compliance of Accounting processes within GAAP and company standards guidelines.


Principal Accountabilities

  • Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the
organization

  • Responsible for career development/planning, performance and remuneration of team members
  • Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue
  • Oversees the analysis and reporting of accounting data for both external reporting and internal Management decision making/analysis
  • Develops, implements, and maintains systems, procedures, and policies
  • Participates in annual audits and special projects
  • Works with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible to source, negotiate and purchase materials from vendors
  • Evaluate vendor's quotation to ensure that they are in line with the technical and commercial specifications required for the project
  • Advise internal and external on issues regarding purchasing Terms & Conditions
  • In charge of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing, and following up on Purchase Orders, delivery and shipment schedules
  • Prepare budgeting for India COE for facility, security and other activities
  • Preparing journals, reconciliations and related documentation
  • Controllership for Inter co relationships assigned to identify issues, resolve and bring permanent solutions
  • Work with business partners like stat accounting, tax and treasury on deliverables relating to IC accounting, audit, tax and regulatory matters
  • Directs team to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies for accounting
  • Directs team and organization on compliance with government regulations and internal controls
  • Assists team members in the determination of the appropriate process, policies, and/or
procedures to be used

  • Responds to escalated internal customer account inquiries and issues
  • Builds relationships with internal business partners on issue resolution, and resolves issues involving crossfunctional
  • Has indepth knowledge of transactional systems impacting the area of work

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and US GAAP relevant to the area of work
  • Finance & Accounting, Ledger Maintenance
  • Vendor Management
  • MIS Handling & Reporting

Education & Experience

  • Qualified Accountant with 3 to 5 years' relevant experience (or)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education with 6 to 9 years of relevant work experience
