Role Descriptor
DHL Express is looking for a Customs Broker to join and lead our team. He/she will be responsible to Facilitate Customs Clearance of shipments in the DHL net. Ensure that the lodging, classifying and compiling of entries (through the use of ECE and X-Simple ) is completed in a timely and accurate manner for inbound, in compliance with Customs regulations

Authority Levels

Sign Customs Entries.
Can pay duty/tax as per relevant Financial Authority Levels Policy.
Unrestricted phone use for business purposes, both Local and Interstate.

Key Responsibilities
He/she will have to perform the following key activities:

Portray a professional, courteous and helpful attitude in all dealings with internal and external customers.
Provide DHL finance department with guidelines in relation to the payment and collection of duties and taxes
Assist other departments with technical advice or presentations as required
Liaise with Customs to resolve disputes / claims / queries.
Ensure that entries are cleared in accordance with Customs compliance agreements
Prioritize the clearance flow in order to achieve fastest transit time possible
Maximize preclearances opportunity in accordance with established service guidelines.
Ensure clearance authority held, and clearance is completed in accordance with the owner's instructions
Ensure that correct Lodgment declarations are made on behalf of customers, whilst satisfying the legislation set by customs, VAT laws and other regulatory agencies.
Ensure accurate and up to date information is held on the customer database
Help maintain a clean and safe working environment
Incumbent has no direct reports and authority over country line and functional personnel.
He/She should have Informal influence to enable improvement and change within the organization.
