Job Description:


As a Purchase Executive specializing in the steel industry, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process of steel materials required by the organization.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of steel products, while maintaining quality standards and building strong supplier relationships.


Your responsibilities will include:

Sourcing and Supplier Management:
Identify potential suppliers of steel materials through market research, industry contacts, and supplier evaluations.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to obtain competitive rates and favorable contract terms.
Evaluate supplier capabilities, track record, and financial stability to ensure a reliable supply chain.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering partnerships based on trust and mutual benefit.
Continuously monitor supplier performance, resolve any issues, and implement improvements when necessary.

Purchase Planning and Order Processing:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as production, engineering, and project management teams, to determine steel material requirements.
Develop purchase plans and strategies based on production schedules, inventory levels, and budget constraints.
Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy of specifications, quantities, delivery schedules, and pricing details.
Coordinate with suppliers to track order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve any delivery discrepancies or delays.
Maintain proper documentation and records related to procurement activities, including contracts, invoices, and quality certifications.

Quality Control and Compliance:
Ensure that all procured steel materials meet the required quality standards and specifications.
Collaborate with the quality control department to establish inspection procedures and conduct quality audits of received materials.
Monitor and address any non-conformances or quality issues with suppliers, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Stay updated with industry regulations, standards, and certifications relevant to the steel materials procurement process.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines in all procurement activities.

Cost Optimization and Reporting:
Identify cost-saving opportunities through effective negotiation, supplier consolidation, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply-demand dynamics to make informed purchasing decisions.
Prepare regular reports and metrics related to procurement activities, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
Collaborate with the finance department to manage budget allocation, track expenses, and optimize working capital.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the steel industry.
  • Indepth knowledge of steel materials, grades, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationshipbuilding skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to interpret market data and trends.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, quality standards, and compliance requirements.

Salary:
₹20, ₹25,000.00 per month
