    Description

    Title:
    AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) Specialist


    Responsibilities:

    Migration Planning:
    Assess existing database environments and develop migration strategies tailored to specific business requirements and constraints.

    Implementation:

    Configure and deploy AWS DMS resources to facilitate the migration of databases from on-premises or other cloud platforms to AWS.


    Data Replication:
    Set up and manage ongoing data replication tasks, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and minimal downtime during migration.

    Performance Optimization:
    Fine-tune AWS DMS settings and parameters to optimize migration performance, throughput, and resource utilization.

    Troubleshooting:
    Monitor migration progress and troubleshoot any issues that arise, including connectivity problems, data replication errors, or performance bottlenecks.

    Security and Compliance:

    Ensure that data migration processes comply with security standards and regulations, implementing encryption, access controls, and audit trails as necessary.


    Documentation:
    Document migration processes, configurations, and best practices for future reference and knowledge sharing.

    Training and Support:
    Provide training and support to internal teams and stakeholders on AWS DMS usage, capabilities, and best practices.

    Integration:

    Collaborate with other AWS services and tools, such as AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) and AWS Database Query Tool, to streamline migration workflows and address specific use cases.


    Continuous Improvement:
    Stay up-to-date with AWS DMS features, updates, and best practices, incorporating new technologies and methodologies to enhance migration processes and outcomes

    AWS certification (such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty) is a plus.
