Structured hybrid role:

Introduction:
Working in close partnership with the business, provide expert financial support and challenge to drive business decisions:

  • Interpret and explain performance within the business on a weekly, monthly and ad-hoc basis.
  • Support and advise the business in respect of key financial forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Undertaking decision support analytics to generate insights that inform decision making.
  • Proactively counsel and advise the business with adhoc analysis and insights on specific issues.
  • Supporting and fostering best practice in finance and business performance areas.
What will you be doing?

  • Partnering services to business leaders and stakeholders within the segments across UK Corporate
  • Delivery of wide range of month end deliverables including management accounting month end close processes, monthly business review pack creation and insightful performance commentary
  • Wide stakeholder engagement across wider Finance / Business Management teams regarding all finance issues and initiatives delivering strong business partnering support.
  • Be a trusted partner in all key decisions to ensure that Finance is involved & can influence key financial decisions (including projects).
  • Understand the primary income drivers of key business areas, both current and proposed so as to drive business performance and influencing decision making through key insights.

What we're looking for:

  • Accountancy or advanced finance qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) (or substantial progress to completion).
  • Extensive experience in both financial management accounting and commercial decision support and knowledge of the banking and financial markets sector.
  • Advanced understanding of financial and MI processes underpinning exposure, income and cost drivers reporting and analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively summarise and interpret complex data.

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Experience in a Finance function with an excellent understanding of working with leaders on a day-to-day basis.
  • Experience in operating in a multigeographic, matrix organisation a plus, with proven ability to balance commercial, client, and regulatory needs across businesses and geographies
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills a must. Ability to balance multiple critical requests from various stakeholders with outstanding precision
  • Strong Communication skills across a variety of forums and mediums. Proven ability to distil information into key messages and deliver succinctly according to audience
  • Relevant years post qualification experience
  • Experience in a monthend or quarterend focused reporting role
  • Strong excel skills
  • Previous experience with having used either SAP or Hyperion
  • Good analysis and problem solving skills
  • Strong control awareness.
  • Good stakeholder engagement skills and understanding & executing their requirements / expectations
  • Experience in financial services; on an international scale preferred
  • Knowledge/experience of managing business financials, management accountancy etc.
  • Experience of working in a Finance business
  • Ability to balance multiple critical requests from various stakeholders and prioritise in the right order
  • Ability to drive and execute deliverables in short time frames and work with limited supervision and able to thrive in a challenging and ever changing environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels and geographies of the organization.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communicator
  • Willingness and ability to take ownership of issues and manage through to a successful resolution
