Location/Division Specific Information


Data Modeler, based out of our Bangalore location, plays a key role in Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) Operations organization providing business continuity for critical business processes, IT systems and IT solutions through project implementations, enhancements, documentation and operational support.

Being part of an organization that provides analytics driven data solutions for all businesses across Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be instrumental in helping our business partners and customers with their data and analytics needs.


What will you do?

  • Own and deliver data modelling solutions on Enterprise data platform across Thermo Fisher.
  • Defining, designing and data models and leading the implementation of data and analytical solutions.
  • Collaborate with admins, developers, data engineers and analysts for successful functionality delivery
  • Enable security and authentication features across EDP processes.
  • Brings experienced point of view on differing data solution architectures & tool and develops solutions based on client use cases.
  • Defines EDP standards, guidelines and best practices for technical teams to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Collaborate with leadership and data analysts to ensure data quality and integrity in DWH & AWS platforms for BI/Analytical reporting
  • Involved in building solutions using PySpark, SQL and databases, Oracle Golden Gate, AWS Athena, S3, Redshift, AWS API Gateway, Lambda, Glue and other Data Engineering technologies.
  • Follow agile development methodologies to deliver solutions and product features by following DevOps practices.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • 6+ years working experience in data modelling for legacy databases as well as in cloud.
  • 2+ years of Experience building Cloud BI solutions using AWS and Azure as data lake backend sources and understanding of Power BI or similar as BI visualization tools.
  • Strong expertise in SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of data lake, data warehouse and datahub concepts.
  • Working knowledge of relational database design and data modeling.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies by following DevOps, Data Ops and Dev Sec Ops practices.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze trends associated with huge datasets.
  • Excellent prioritization and problemsolving skills.
