    What We're Seeking:

    As a Lead Java Engineer at Tide, your role involves designing, creating, and maintaining the rich product catalog within a specific Business area (e.g., Payments Service, Business Service). With a plethora of challenges ahead, such as managing core payments tech, facilitating collaborations with banking partners, and exploring innovative features like SEPA payments, Open Banking, and more.

    This position empowers you to shape engineering practices within a rapidly expanding company, granting you the autonomy to influence technical decisions that impact multiple teams and drive the evolution of Tide's Global One Platform.

    Collaborating in small autonomous teams, you will partake in in-depth discussions on technical challenges and establish guidelines within the Communities of Practice, irrespective of your position within our Growth Framework.

    As a Lead Java Engineer, you'll:

    • Own, maintain, and scale your team's services within our service catalog under a specific domain
    • Collaborate with the product team to choose appropriate technology partners
    • Mentor team members, participate in design/refinement, implementation, and align on visions and roadmaps
    • Translate requirements into well-engineered solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams
    • Contribute significantly to our Community of Practice, sharing insights and best practices

    Qualifications for a Great Fit:

    • Experience in building server-side applications and familiarity with relevant programming languages
    • Proficiency in a backend framework (e.g., Spring/Spring Boot) for developing microservices
    • Proven track record in engineering scalable solutions in a cloud-native environment
    • Dedication to crafting secure, well-tested software that integrates with third-party providers
