Fashion Designer – International Knitwear

Department: International Ready to Wear (New Division)

Location: Delhi NCR

Job Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to create and launch an exciting new Ready to Wear brand, under the house of Gaurav Gupta Couture. After unrivalled global growth, and expansion across new markets, we are looking to create a first of its kind, Luxury ready to wear line. From retail POS ranging from Harrods to Bergdorf's, we are looking for a candidate with a clear flair for international fashion.

The relevant candidate should have experience as a knitwear designer, ideally for a luxury ready to wear line or an export house. The designer would be responsible for driving new knit directions within cable and exploring how to incorporate the brand DNA, elemental shapes in the weave of the silhouette. The relevant designer should have significant knit manufacturing connections and ability to source and build on the network.

Key Responsibilities

· Research and create a new luxury knitwear direction from the brand.

· Redefine a new global language knitwear, within the luxury space.

· Working on brainstorming, sketching & ideating on concepts/designs.

· Source new fabrics and embroidery materials in line with the brands DNA.

· Oversee the complete execution of the sample development.

· Create artworks and sketches digitally.

· Working with Masters to create Toiles.

· Experience in pattern making and draping

· Work on surface developments, hand and machine embroidery.

Requirements and Skills:

· Degree in Design (preferably from NIFT, NID, FIT-NYC, LCF/CSM-London).

· Experience in leading or working within a knitwear and cables for a Luxury Pret or RTW brand.

· Out of the box vision and experience working with Luxury Pret Brands and Export/Buying houses.

· An understanding of Gaurav Gupta's brand vision and customer profile.

· Proficiency in software's like MS Office, Procreate, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
