About Aasraa Trust


Aasraa Trust was established in 2009 to work with society's most underprivileged and vulnerable children from the streets and slums of Dehradun.

Aasraa is not just a charity but a vehicle for empowerment through education, skills training, nutrition, healthcare and shelter homes.

Starting with street level mobilization, Aasraa uses a multi-faced approach that prepares children for mainstream education and transition to higher studies and skills training.

Aasraa is certified by national Institute of Open Schooling and works with the education department of Uttarakhand to improve the quality of education at 9 government school in

Dehradun. Aasraa is also implementing a Girl Education Program in four girls Inter Collages in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand. Aasraa has built shelters for orphaned, abandoned, abused and special needs children.


Aasraa started 14 years ago with 35 children and it's now supports over 9000 children from the streets and slums across 50 project in Dehradun district.


Position:
Communications Associate


Reporting:
CEO/ Managing Trustee.


Objectives:
To ensure effective communications through all kinds of media with existing donors/prospective donors to maintain and build relationships.


Key Responsibilities Areas:


Regular Tasks

  • Draft and send monthly "thank you" notes
  • Give and share donation receipts
  • Prepare and publish Quarterly Newsletters
  • Prepare annual reports
  • Draft and launch fundraising appeals
  • Draft and publish social media posts
  • Prepare concept notes and draft proposals.
  • Sharing minutes of meetings.

Report Writing

  • Fulfil all donors related requirement on reporting.
  • Formulate Project Proposals and submit to the donors.
  • Prepare a brief report on activities and share with the supervisor.
  • Maintain records and documents of projects concerned.
  • A brief report should be prepared of the work performed.

Children Update

  • Case study/Profiles of new children

Monitoring work

  • Ensuring regular and timely reporting system, liaison with the donors and finance department.

Miscellaneous Work

  • Preparing letters to be sent to Govt. Office, and other places as and when required.
  • Coordinating and dispensing details as and when required.
  • Any other work assigned by the manager.

Skills Required:


  • Creative writer & fast learner.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal and persuasion skills.
  • Highly energetic with a positive attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and preferably also in Google Docs/Drive etc.
  • Good knowledge of design software like Canva, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, etc.
  • Fluency in Hindi and English.
  • All IT facilities will be provided from the Trust side to work.

Salary:
Up to ₹45,000.00 per month
