Purpose:

Liaise with functional or operational area managers, employees, and their representatives to investigate and resolve employee grievances and develop strategies to prevent their recurrence in order to maintain a productive and harmonious workplace.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Establish and secure commitment for HR-IR functions with agreed objective, plans for Pune.
  • Ensure adherence to the., statutory regulations and legislation as applicable.
  • Ensure progressive employees relations strategy by efficient employee grievance redressal mechanism for conducive industrial relations with stakeholders that involves Trade Unions.
  • Contractual labour Management.
  • Work closely and partner with Business Managers and prioritise business needs with periodic follow up actions.
  • Manage IR function comprising Employee Transport, Canteen, Time office.
  • Synergise and interact across the organization for effective utilization of resources by cost effective means.
  • Support and provide employees in the department with the input needed to perform his/her job to the best of ability.
  • Support Workmen and Technician training programs and development from time to time.
  • Support Blue Collar employees' Annual Performance Management to respective Managers with accurate data of wages and previous PMS record.
  • Ensure timely Recruitment of Technologists and look after their life cycle.
  • Support in Global HR initiative like Sandvik Employee survey, HRMIS
  • Workdays etc.
  • Support work audits and take remedial efforts to mitigate risks.

  • Ability to interpret and comply with Factories Act and other legalization related to labour laws including contractual labour, ESI, PF etc.,
  • Ability to negotiate and deal with Union related matters.
  • Collaborative and cohesive approach with all stakeholders.
  • BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE: Applies understanding of the industry and how own area contributes to the achievement of objectives.
  • FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE: Requires in depth understanding of concepts, theories and principles in own discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines.
  • IMPACT: Target setting on operational level.

Manages a generally homogeneous team; adapts plans and priorities to meet service and/or operational challenges in accordance with the Sandvik Leadership Model.

COMMUNICATION Guides, influences and persuades others either internally in other externally.

  • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Review, improve and develop methods,
- tools and processes. Explore opportunities
- to share best practice within own function. EHS Accountable for environment, health and safety as per local legislation, policies etc.

  • COMPLIANCE: Ensure adherence to Sandvik Code of Conduct, applicable legislation and established policies and guidelines within area of responsibility.
Experience and Education: 10 years of experience working in HRIR in several different processes. Experience of working in manufacturing Industry in unionized environment.

Masters in personal management/labour welfare/Masters in Social Works.
