Functional Skills Required:


  • Ensure that cleaning schedules are not compromised.
  • Create schedules for housekeeping staff.
  • Make sure that the appearance of the hospital is clean and tidy.
  • Monitor availability of resources in adequate numbers.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of required material and equipment.
  • Strict control over incidents and complaints.
  • Implementation of Policies and Procedures of the hospital.
  • Participation in mock drills.
  • Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  • Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
  • Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective checkouts or discharges to prepare work assignments.
  • Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency of staff shortage.
  • Preparing laundry and cleaning register.
