    About the Position

    Deputy Manager Finance and Operations is responsible for providing support to the program delivery team in various tasks, including but not limited to financial data analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and provide support with financial decision-making. The Deputy Manager Finance and Operations works under the guidance of senior finance professionals to ensure the financial health and compliance of the organization.

    Location – Hybrid working option preferably Delhi, Mumbai or Odisha

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare financial MIS report on a monthly basis for management review and analysis, including the preparation of financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and generate periodic reports for management and stakeholders.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting: Manage the budgeting process, monitor budget performance, and recommend adjustments as needed to ensure expenses align with the approved budget. Develop and manage monthly-based forecast tracking for the India portfolio. Assist in creating realistic financial forecasts to guide decision-making and track actual performance against budgeted/forecasted figures for projects and overall. Ensure all forecasts and budgets for all projects are uploaded and updated monthly in ERP system.
    • Financial Monitoring and Control:Monitoring cash flow, banking activities, and internal controls are key responsibilities which involves ensuring adequate liquidity to meet obligations by managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and optimizing cash flow processes. Additionally, supervising and mentoring a team of financial professionals, including accountants, analysts, and specialists, is essential for effective financial oversight.
    • Financial Planning and Strategy: Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive financial strategies that are aligned with the organization's goals. This includes creating long-term financial plans and budgets aimed at achieving sustainable growth. Additionally, oversee the implementation of cost reduction initiatives and revenue enhancement strategies to optimize financial performance and support the organization's overall goals.
    • Project Management (Operations): On a requirement basis coordinate and oversee the operational aspects of project initiation and closure, ensuring that necessary inputs are obtained from corporate services, service providers, and stakeholders. Facilitate the registration of the company in-country, ensuring compliance with all legal and financial obligations for both the entity and the project. Assist in developing and updating project-specific sections of the project operations manual.
    • Collaborate with corporate services to deliver training and support to project staff, ensuring adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures, guidelines, and client regulations. This includes areas such as security, occupational health and safety, risk management, human resource management, monitoring, reporting, finance, procurement, logistics, IT, communications, and audit support.
    • Maintain a comprehensive record of project issues and risks, monitoring, reporting, managing, and mitigating them as needed. Escalate significant risks and issues to corporate or project leadership when necessary.
    • Compliances and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to regulations and tax laws, collaborating with auditors, aiding compliance efforts, and assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual filings. Identify and report both internal and external risks pertaining to financial and working capital management, offering mitigation suggestions for management review. Implement risk management policies to address financial and working capital risks.
    • Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in commerce or a related field. Preferably post graduate in commerce or equivalent with 5-7 years of experience in finance and operations.
    • Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP accounting software
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
    • Eagerness to learn and grow within the finance and operations field.

They will also be responsible for preparing financial presentations and reports for senior management.
