Job Title:
Plastic Injection Mould Designer


Responsibilities:

Collaborate with product development teams to understand project requirements and translate them into mould design specifications.

Analyze product designs and specifications to determine mould feasibility, functionality, and manufacturing requirements.

Develop detailed mould designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools.

Ensure that mould designs adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.

Conduct mould flow analysis and simulations to optimize mould design and enhance product quality.

Select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes for mould construction.

Prepare comprehensive documentation, including 2D drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications.

Collaborate with tooling suppliers and oversee the mould manufacturing process to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.

Conduct mould trials and provide technical support during initial production runs to identify and resolve any issues.

Continuously monitor industry trends and advancements in mould design technology to enhance design efficiency and product performance.

Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional meetings to contribute innovative ideas and solutions.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

Education from CIPET, NTTF, or Tool and Die making is Preferred.

Expertise in Multi cavity Mould Design and Manufacturing

Exposure to Engineering and Medical Products


Proven experience as a Plastic Injection Mould Designer or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mould design and manufacturing.


Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks, UG NX, CATIA, or AutoCAD) and mould flow simulation tools (such as Mould flow).

In-depth knowledge of mould design principles, plastic materials, and injection moulding processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mould-related issues.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.

Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems related to mould design and manufacturing.

Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
