Job responsibilities

Define the Data cloud vision and strategy while providing information architectural guidance for clients migrating to AWS (primarily), Azure, or GCP
Assess functioning of overall technology and communications systems and endtoend processes and to look for ways to upgrade and optimize systems and processes in the future.
Continuous review of existing information architecture and provide recommendations for enhancements, changes, & additions while acting as the information architectural liaison and technical SME to help internal organizations build cloud into their products and services.
Stay up to date with the latest design patterns, programming practices, cloud trends and general changes in technology to provide guidance on how these affect our business while ensuring team knowledge and experience with AWS services remains current
Work with Business, Architects and System Analysts to fully understand the business requirements and translate them into Conceptual, Logical and Physical models while promotes data modeling standardization, defines and drives adoption of the standards. Maintain, publish and promote usage of data dictionary and metadata about data models

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skill

AWS experience must include IAM, Lambda, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, VPC networking (DX, Transit Gateway, VPN, Peering), KMS, and other cloud related services, knowledge must include networking, encryption, identity and access management, and automation
AWS Certified Solution Architect and/or AWS Certified Specialist preferred with handson experience capable of creating proofofconcepts in AWS using Terraform or CloudFormation and writing software in one or more languages: Java, Python & Go
Complete understanding of industrywide technology strategies and best practices with a keen understanding of financial control and budget management
Effective written and verbal communication skills and facilitation experience with business stakeholders to understand organization data needs and capture data requirements and implement Data Modeling while gathering and publishing

Data Dictionaries:
Create and Maintain data models in ERwin. Capture data models from existing databases, and record descriptive information into Erwin

Identify business needs, organize and define data, create and maintain Conceptual, Logical and Physical data models; Maintain appropriate Version Control on data models working closely with the App Dev team and DBA to create an appropriate Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Model

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skill

Amazon RDS, ECS/Fargate, Amazon Redshift, Redshift Spectrum, Athena, Apache Hive metastore, AWS Lambda, EC2, Ingres/Egress, AWS KMS, AI/ML processing including tools like Airflow, Sagemaker, Glue and EMR.
Capture data requirements and implement Data Modeling publishing Data Dictionaries, create and maintain data models in Erwin, capture data models from existing data stores, and record descriptive information into Erwin and or excel.
