You'll spend time on the following:

  • Managing the Teradata clusters end to end
  • Understand the business users need and resolve their day to day issues
  • Make sure that the system is available for the business round the clock
  • Plan the maintenance at a suitable window whenever it requires

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Take on responsibilities as a Teradata engineer with good knowledge on Teradata administration; coordinates upgrades with the vendors and participates in disaster recovery exercises.
  • You will support configuring solution requirements on the products; understand if any issues, diagnose the rootcause of such issues, seek clarifications, and then identify and shortlist solution alternatives Exposure and Knowledge on Hadoop, and Big Query, Snowflake are a plus.
  • You will explore the alternatives to the recommended solutions based on research that includes literature surveys, information available in public domains, vendor evaluation information, etc. and build POCs
  • Perform security audits and develop a framework, which includes designing and implementing roles, profiles, and accounts.
  • Create stored procedures to support the continued functioning of the Teradata data warehouse.
  • Work collaboratively with the database operations team and the vendor to resolve incidents and mitigate risks.
  • Manages and monitor system performance, Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure and secure services with minimum downtime
  • Provide recommendations for tuning including statistics optimization, sampled statistics, stats recollection, data distribution, indexes, PPI, join optimization.
  • Performance optimization of resourceintensive ETL and individual user queries. Work with others as a team and provide recommendations for process improvement.
  • Providing suggestions to DBA's on optimal workload management settings in TASM to be able to meet responsetime SLA's as well as optimize resource consumption.

  • You will create requirement specifications from the business needs, define the tobeprocesses and detailed functional designs based on requirements.
