  • Supervising the upkeep of the Operation
Theatres and Recovery Room.


  • Storage, maintenance and accounting of
instruments, tables and other supplies belonging

to the Operation Theatre and Recovery Room.


  • Taking adequate precautions against fire and
other hazards.


  • Keeping the emergency outfit up-to-date and in
good working order in the theatre.


  • Supervising cleanliness and maintenance of the Operation Theatre.
  • Seeing of the proper sterilization of instruments, linen and other appliances before use.
  • Seeing to the periodic testing of electrical equipment with the help of electricians.
  • Ensuring aseptic conditions in clean theatres.
  • Transporting patients to and from the Operation Theatres.
  • Other duty as may be specified by the Departmental Head.
