About the Organization

Swaniti Initiative aims to strengthen public service delivery by working with state and local governments across South Asia with a strong focus on India.

Our interventions have included strengthening scheme implementation by identifying current gaps and limitations, providing research support to Hon'ble Members of Parliament about best practices in moving forward, and developing data-technology tools that can back decision-making processes.

With flagship initiatives like Supporting Parliamentarians in Analysis and Research in Constituencies (SPARC) and Leadership and Engagement Associate in District (LEAD), Swaniti has supported constituency development and district development planning in various parts of the country.

At present, along with working with 200+ Hon'ble Members of Parliament for policy making, we are working with state governments as advisors to ensure the delivery of schemes to the last mile.

Job Summary:

Develop a netzero study for the state of Uttar Pradesh that focuses on one or two sectors and present the study at various forums.
Conduct a study on how stateowned enterprises in India can diversify their businesses and lead the writing of the report on the above study, followed by presenting it at various forums.
Design and conduct a study on specific coal
dependent districts in India

, lead the writing of the report on the above study, and work with Swaniti's state team to collect data required for the study before presenting it at various forums.
Responsibilities:

The Fellow will be responsible for leading Swaniti's research and public engagement work on energy transitions, climate change, and economic development.
Represent Swaniti as an influential voice in energy transitions, climate change, and economic development space globally and in India.
Conceive and lead events, such as workshops and roundtables to advance Swaniti's research and analysis work.
The fellow may also be requested to occasionally travel to different states in India or overseas.
Contribute to the thought leadership and strategic direction of Swaniti's climate, energy, and economic development work.
Work with and mentor interns, analysts, and associates to produce research and to facilitate their professional development.

Bringing Net Zero to the Indian States
:

Design and conduct a net zero study for the state of Uttar Pradesh focusing on 12 sectors.
Lead the writing of the report on the above net zero study.
Work collaboratively with Swaniti's UP state team to collect data required for the study.
Present the study at various forums.

- **Business Diversification of the State-Owned Enterprises**:

Design and conduct a study on how state
owned enterprises in India can diversify their businesses.
Lead the writing of the report on the above study.
Present the study at various forums.

- **Economic Diversification.**:

Design and conduct a study on the specific coal
dependent districts in India
Lead the writing of the report on the above study.
Work collaboratively with Swaniti's state team to collect data required for the study.
Present the study at various forums

Qualifications:

D. or Master's in relevant fields with at least 3 years of experience.

Ability to work with 12 visualization data tools such as Adobe, GIS, or other such software. Knowledge of programming in R, Python, or others is required.
Strong project management skills and the ability to lead or work on larger research and engagement projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Ability to work well independently and collaboratively as needed.
Must possess a selfstarting and entrepreneurial outlook for leading research.
Must be fluent in writing and speaking English, demonstrated through prior research reports or academic publications; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
A passion for making a positive impact in the world.

Skills & Attributes:

Proficiency in research and study design.
Expertise in net zero modeling.
Proficient in quantitative skills using R or other coding languages.
Capable of conducting statistical analysis.
Skilled in policy analysis.
Competent in Business/Management or Finance.
Prior experience in conducting literature reviews.
