Location - Mumbai, Maharashtra


Deutsche Bank AG (DBAG), India Compliance is seeking a highly motivated individual with expertise in managing compliance matters pertaining to financial markets (particularly foreign exchange, credit trading and rate products).

This specialized role entails day to day compliance, advisory, regulatory advocacy, monitoring and testing, compliance risk assessment for Investment Banking business of DBAG in India.

Your key responsibilities
DBAG is global powerhouse in structured financing delivering cutting edge solutions to our clients.

The Compliance Department serves the Bank to make sure that the regulatory obligations are duly fulfilled and complied with as well as promotes a culture of Compliance in line with the values and beliefs of the Bank.

Compliance works closely with business lines to assist with the management of specific risks.

This is a team leader role for IB compliance which involves:


  • Working closely with India Head-Compliance, Country Management and APAC Head of CIB Compliance to manage regulatory queries and expectations, providing advisory support in Investment banking mainly to Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC) business which includes Global Emerging Market and Global Credit Trading.
  • Proactively manage all aspects of regulatory inquiries and requests pertaining to above areas.
  • Collaborating closely with other support and/or business units to ensure appropriate stakeholder involvement in regulatory inquiries and examinations, ensure consistency in approach with our global policies and procedures.
  • Escalating, monitoring, tracking, and reporting all regulatory issues to ensure the timely response and remediation of all regulatoryrelated matters.
  • Analyzing regulatory trends and developments to determine impact on business conduct, policies and procedures, systems and processes.
  • Being a Team Leader in a challenging and evolving regulatory environment, incorporating a positive and flexible approach.
  • Ongoing good relationship with regulators, industry associations, policy makers, etc.
  • The role will also involve working with other legal entities within the DBAG Group in order to lend support to Compliance like oversight over compliance department of Gift City branch of DBAG

Essential Skills/Experience/ Education or professional qualifications:

  • Banking professional possessing a strategic as well as granular understanding of regulatory risk, including emerging risk issues.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and persuasively across the organization including regionally and globally.
  • Professionally qualified (CA/CS/MBA) with minimum 1012 years of regulatory and risk review management experience. Additional certifications like FRM and CFA are preferred.
  • Strong product and local market knowledge of financial markets with a focus on particularly in foreign exchange, credit trading and rate products. Deeper understanding of RBI & SEBI regulations, markets product like derivatives, bonds and other crossborder structured products. Basic understanding of other banking products like trade finance, credit regulations, prudential norms, FPI framework and custody activities.
  • Take ownership for own career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal capability and improved performance contribution
  • Act as a role model for new employees, providing help and support to facilitate early integration and assimilation of their new environment
  • Strong communication, analytical, problemsolving and organizational skills combined with the ability to articulate these skills at a senior level.
