Automotive Accountant Responsibilities

Consistently input daily financial transactions and accounts receivable data to finalize the posting process
Perform bookkeeping duties including maintaining data on financial statements, reviewing bank reconciliations, and more
Confirm that books are reconciled with bank statements and prepare all monthend dealership accounting reports
Make sure accounts receivable/ accounts payable are processed promptly and properly
Oversee automotive group payroll, so employees receive prompt payment
Ensure auto dealership transactions are accurately recorded in all general ledgers

Automotive Accountant Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is mandatory
At least two years of work experience in an accounting firm or as a cost accountant, accounting manager, or bookkeeper is required
Possess a valid driver's license
Must be wellversed in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Exhibit exemplary problemsolving, time management, and communication skills
Microsoft Office, Excel, and QuickBooks experience is needed
CDK accounting experience is preferred
