About the role


Reporting to the Director of Consolidation the role the role is responsible for supporting the Director of Consolidation in managing all aspects of the Group consolidation and for providing challenge and insight through the presentation of timely, high-quality business information.

The role will require direct contact with the Group Financial Controller, the Group Head of External Reporting, Group Finance and will also require working closely with finance teams at all levels within finance shared services (GFS) teams, Corporate teams and the Commercial operating units

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the Group consolidation is prepared in time and quality in order to meet both the Group's external reporting requirements as well as all the financial information to be presented to the Board of Directors.
  • Being able to deal with high autonomy in exercising judgement, liaising with the auditors and ensuring the Group meets its SOX control framework around consolidation
  • Partnering with the Consolidation System Control & Business Support team in designing, testing, implementing, and communicating requited system changes by providing technical guidance.
  • Partnering with Regional Close and Control teams, Trading Partner Finance team, Commercial Finance, FP&A, the Director of External Reporting, the Controller Consolidation, MA&D Reporting team and the Treasury accounting team to ensure the IFRS Group consolidation is accurate. The role will be a specialist within finance that will have to guide others in resolving complex issues in related to consolidation and reporting based on existing solutions and procedures.
  • Lead some key aspects regarding the preparation of the consolidated accounts (actuals, budget and forecasts) to the Group CFO for sign off and approval on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Manage price x volume submissions, ensure their accuracy and liaise with the segment Finance Directors and Business Units Finance Directors to ensure delivery in time and quality.
  • Partner with the Global Financial Services (GFS) teams, the Group External Reporting Team and the wider business to ensure successful delivery of the consolidated Group results.
  • Contribute to promoting and initiating process improvements in all areas of the consolidation, especially around simplification and automation.
  • Supporting the FP&A team in the preparation of the Group's management accounts. This will require exercising considerable judgement in prioritizing, developing new approaches and resolving issues.
  • Play a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the Group's income statement, balance sheet, cashflow and statement of changes in equity and other comprehensive income and support the Group CFO, Group Financial Controller, Group Head of Reporting, Group Head of Tax and the Group Head of Treasury in understanding the numbers
  • Resourcing, motivating, developing and training a Consolidation Analyst.
Qualifications and skills Essential

  • 10+ years' experience Big4 and practical large, listed company audit, IFRS consolidation and reporting experience.
  • University Degree in Finance / Accounting or related discipline.


  • Qualified Accountant

  • CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent chartered accountant qualification
  • Fluent in English and international experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment with different stakeholders and all levels of management.
  • Communicate confidently and effectively (verbal and written) within the team and with people in a range of disciplines from external auditors and other functions within the Group which may have varying levels of knowledge and understanding of accounting.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders based in different locations around the world or within other functions within the Group.
