Position Overview:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Safely operate hospital vehicles to transport staff, patients, and visitors to and from designated locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of assigned vehicles, including regular inspections and upkeep.
  • Ensure compliance with traffic laws, regulations, and Ovum Hospitals' safety policies at all times.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking from vehicles, and provide assistance with carrying luggage or other items as needed.
  • Plan efficient routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations, taking into account traffic conditions and other factors.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or vehicle malfunctions to the appropriate authorities and follow established procedures for documentation and reporting.
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy at all times.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of equipment, supplies, and other materials as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor or designated manager.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a healthcare or corporate setting.
  • Knowledge of local traffic laws and routes.
  • Excellent driving skills and a commitment to safety.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
