    Description

    Application Development Advisor at Cigna Specialty

    We are seeking application development advisors who embody a DevOps Mindset, characterized by an automation-first approach and continuous improvement focus. Ideal candidates will possess expertise in software engineering and SDLC using Agile methodologies. Experience in creating web-based applications directly or with low-code tools, as well as designing integration services by understanding system interrelationships and utilizing technologies like library calls, REST APIs, and database queries, is highly valued to drive desired outcomes. Ultimately, the software we develop aims to deliver business value to our customers and clients within the Cigna Specialty product realm.

    Shift Timing - 1 PM -10 PM (Afternoon)

    Responsibilities:

    • Provides expert guidance on complex Application Development projects.
    • Serves as the key designer for major systems and subsystems with moderate complexity, leveraging in-depth knowledge of available technology and existing designs.
    • Offers in-depth consultation to business units, IT management, and staff on all aspects of application programming and processes across diverse development platforms and computing environments.
    • Collaborates with clients and IT stakeholders to identify application development solutions, new programs, code reuse, or integrated solutions.
    • Evaluates alternative solutions, recommends efficient application programming, and may develop new programs or modify existing ones.
    • Demonstrates creativity and judgment in planning and executing initiatives, providing professional advice to functional leaders.
    • Documents, tests, implements, and supports applications, offering ongoing assistance.
    • Focuses on thought leadership within Application Development and contributes to broader business projects.
    • Recognized as a subject matter expert internally.

    Qualifications
    Required Experience & Education:

    • 8-10 years of experience
    • Bachelor's degree in related technical/business fields or equivalent work experience.
    • Proven background in architecture, design, and development of large-scale enterprise applications.

    Required Skills:

    • Hands-on experience with:
    • Microsoft technologies including SQL Server
    • Java, Microservices, Angular JS, Oracle/ SQL

    Good to Have:

    • Knowledge of DevOps Tools
