Description

The Industrial Electrician in the Oil and Gas industry is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components in oil and gas facilities.

This role involves working with a variety of electrical equipment used in the extraction, processing, and distribution of oil and gas.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical System Installation:
Install and commission electrical systems, including wiring, conduit, and control panels, based on engineering drawings and specifications.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure the integration of electrical systems with other components of the facility.

Maintenance and Repairs:
Conduct regular inspections of electrical equipment to identify and address potential issues.
Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems, motors, generators, and control systems to minimize downtime.

Instrumentation and Control Systems:

Work with instrumentation and control systems commonly used in the oil and gas industry, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).

Hazardous Area Expertise:

Understand and adhere to safety standards and regulations for working in hazardous areas where flammable gases or liquids may be present.

Emergency Response:
Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, including equipment failures or electrical system malfunctions, to minimize disruption to operations.

Power Distribution:
Manage power distribution systems, transformers, and switchgear to ensure a reliable and efficient power supply to critical equipment.

Testing and Calibration:
Conduct testing and calibration of electrical systems and instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and electrical system modifications.
Generate reports on electrical system performance and recommend improvements.

Compliance and Regulations:
Stay current with industry regulations, electrical codes, and safety standards relevant to the oil and gas sector.

Collaboration:
Collaborate with other maintenance and engineering teams to optimize the overall performance and reliability of electrical systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

A relevant electrical certification or journeyman electrician license.
Previous experience working in the oil and gas industry.
Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and safety protocols.
Knowledge of electrical codes and standards applicable to the oil and gas sector.
Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

Salary:
₹15, ₹22,000.00 per month
