    Description

    Role Description:

    • The Platform Engineer will be in charge of setting up and managing the infrastructure and networking elements of a worldwide private network design on AWS.
    • This involves overseeing AWS Organizations, restructuring the current account framework, and transferring resources to suitable locations.
    • The position also requires offering on-call assistance for security fixes, managing AWS IAM, monitoring infrastructure logs and stacks, addressing vulnerabilities, and ensuring system accessibility.
    • Moreover, the Platform Engineer will participate in OS updates, patch control, as well as enhancing platform automation using standard CI/CD practices.

    Responsibilities:

    Global Private Network Implementation:

    • Implement a global private network design, potentially encompassing AWS Transit Gateway, Private Link, Endpoints, Sitetosite VPN, Route 53, and Network Load Balancers.

    AWS Organizations Oversight:

    • Oversee AWS Organizations, incorporating restructuring the existing account configuration into accepted structures for Dev/Test/Production/Shared Services.
    • Move existing resources to suitable account destinations.
    • On-call Assistance and Security Fixes:
    • Provide on-call assistance for critical 1 (P1) occurrences, namely those related to security fixes.
    • Infrastructure and Network Control:
    • Set up and control AWS IAM (Identity and Access Management).
    • Track infrastructure logs and stacks for efficiency and security.
    • Execute vulnerability solutions and oversee continuous vulnerability evaluations.
    • Control infrastructure availability, including network gateways and RAM.

    OS and Patch Control:

    • Carry out OS upgrades and patch control to assure system protection and stability.

    Normal Business Operations:

    • Guarantee seamless operation of recently implemented infrastructure after re-architecture.

    Network and Firewall Oversight:

    • Control network elements, such as routing, subnets, and firewall configurations.

    Platform Automation:

    • Boost platform automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and other standard CI/CD practices.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Prior experience as a Platform Engineer or a similar position.
    • Proficiency in AWS services and infrastructure control.
    • Solid comprehension of networking principles and protocols.
    • Experience with IAM setup and control.
    • Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and vulnerability control tools.
    • Knowledge of OS upgrades and patch control procedures.
    • Experience with firewall control and network security.
    • Demonstrated ability to set up and sustain CI/CD pipelines.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
