Job brief/purpose
To set up BIM model, co-ordinate with other disciplines, implement Arup practices, self-review of model and drawings, maintain quality to satisfy client requirements, lead regional BIM leadership.
Produce revit models, BIM/CAD drawings, visualisations, and other design-related documentation utilising 3D, 2D and BIM software.
To manage a part of the overall CAD function within this staff group in order to deliver efficient and high-quality CAD drawings and documentation on projects.
Relationships
Report on a day-to-day basis to a senior technician or project manager and ultimately to the staff group leader.
Liaise regularly with staff group leadership to establish project needs and plan resources accordingly.
Manage the work of CAD operators and responsible for technical and skills development of CAD operators and other members of the group involved in CAD drawing production.
Responsibilities
To set up BIM model, prepare revit model, co-ordinate with overall team members for produce CAD drawings, visualizations and other design-related documentation utilising 3D, 2D and BIM software.
Manage CAD production on a project within defined budgets and implement and monitor Arup and project CAD standards
Check sample output for compliance with CAD/QA requirements. Participate in design development and Check drawings produced by others.
Represent CAD at group internal/project meetings and provide focus of expertise which includes answering CAD enquiries and instructing staff in CAD as appropriate.
Undertake limited customisation of software to meet project needs. Contribute to the development of good practice within discipline through involvement with skills networks.
