Introduction:


About the role:


  • The position involves a mixture of project delivery and support activities. The individual filling this position is expected to provide support incident ownership, resolution of database related issues, maintenance activities, patching, tuning etc
  • Experience with Oracle Exadata architecture including Database Machines, Storage Cells, networking and database functionality specific to Exadata
  • Proven track record of managing Exadata environments
  • Oracle Database and Grid Infrastructure installation and upgrade
  • The individual is expected to have good written and verbal communication skills
  • The individual will be responsible for initiating and performing changes on enterprise production systems
  • Experience should include database container (CDB) and pluggable (PDB) database administration, snapshot and clone management, etc.
  • The individual is expected to perform database maintenance and optimizations tasks such as index usage analysis, index management, statistics, partition management, data compression, etc.

Necessary Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 6+ years of Oracle DBA experience
  • 2+ years of Oracle Exadata experience
  • Previous consulting experience is essential
  • BS degree in Computing or other related field, or equivalent experience

Advantageous Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) and ZFS Storage Appliance
  • Knowledge of cross platform replication, e.g. GoldenGate
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, including OCI, AWS Azure and GCP
  • Knowledge of other databases, including MS SQL, Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB
  • Knowledge of automation, including use of Ansible
  • Unix skills in Solaris, HP/UX and AIX
  • Award of Oracle certifications
